19 Benefits of Being a Son-Follower

19 Benefits of Being a Son-Follower by Pearl Allard (Look Up Sometimes)

There are plenty of things I’m not. It does me a world of good to remember what I amWho I am. Whose I am.

It’s been a week of remembering, forgetting, and remembering again.

I wish I knew who to thank for the compiled scriptures. I’ve had this awhile and recently stumbled across it. I streamlined the list to fit on one graphic, but there are plenty more I’m sure you could add, too. In fact, please do in the comment section, and we’ll both be encouraged!

For the days when I’m infected with spiritual amnesia…

  1. What a breathtaking post! I don’t have anything to add to your list, Pearl. Just something to Ephesians 2:10. In the Greek, workmanship is Poema. As a writer, it thrills me to think God is penning our lives lyrically, narratively and dramatically.

    Here’s one of my own: (2012ish, I think…)

    God, in His love
Weaves the days and months and years
    Precious moments form the strands
And a pattern known as life appears.

Thank you for the beautiful encouragement! 🙂

    1. Glenda! I LOVE what you shared!!! Thank you so much for the insight into Greek – what an intimate, precious thought that God’s hand holds the pen to our lives’ scripts. Poema even looks beautiful on paper! Your poem paints a visual of God as the Master Artist. What a great combo! We have the Author of life and the Master Artist in charge of our lives! Really appreciate you sharing your poem and thoughts, Glenda!

  2. Pearl, I have a 5×7 card on my desk at home that’s covered front and back with Scriptures revealing our identity in Christ. I read those almost daily.

Here’s a couple more to add to your list:

    I am God’s coworker!
“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.” (1 Cor. 3:9)

I am firmly rooted and built up in Christ!
“rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” (Colossians 2:7)

I am a personal witness of Christ!
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Thanks for sharing about our true identities! We need to stand firm and believe these.
